हम पंछी उन्मुक्त गगन के
पिंजरबद्ध न गा पाऍंगे
कनक-तीलियों से टकराकर
पुलकित पंख टूट जाऍंगे ।
हम बहता जल पीनेवाले
मर जाऍंगे भूखे-प्यासे
कहीं भली है कटुक निबोरी
कनक-कटोरी की मैदा से ।
स्वर्ण-श्रृंखला के बंधन में
अपनी गति, उड़ान सब भूले
बस सपनों में देख रहे हैं
तरू की फुनगी पर के झूले ।
ऐसे थे अरमान कि उड़ते
नील गगन की सीमा पाने
लाल किरण-सी चोंच खोल
चुगते तारक-अनार के दाने ।
होती सीमाहीन क्षितिज से
इन पंखों की होड़ा-होड़ी
या तो क्षितिज मिलन बन जाता
या तनती सॉंसों की डोरी ।
नीड़ न दो, चाहे टहनी का
आश्रय छिन्न-भिन्न कर डालो
लेकिन पंख दिए हैं तो
आकुल उड़ान में विघ्न न डालो ।

Finally I have decided to start my own blog!
Now lemme tell what this blog is NOT....
1) It is NOT a place to display any literary skills.
2) It is NOT a place to show off.
3) It is NOT a blog created coz blogging is the 'in' thing.
4) It will NOT be grammatically correct all the time.
Now lemme tell u what its is -
I am a firm believer in dissent. It is one of the most essential ingredients of a democracy. I believe that it is very important that everyone thinks differently. I respect everybody's opinion. I might agree or disagree with them, but I respect them for the fact that they think differently and most importantly for the fact that they think. I also believe that in this world there are no absolutes. Einstein has proved that even time is not absolute. Hence, even opinions arent absolute. For example, someone says "Sachin Tendulkar is no more a good batsman". This would result in a long argument with people trying to prove that what they are thinking is correct. But what i believe is that its all relative. If someone feels that Sachin is no more a great batsman, we should respect his opinion, provided he has valid points to formulate his opinion and he is not indulging in negative criticism just for the heck of it. If we have a different opinion, we must express it, but at the same time time, we should not try and attempt prove the other person wrong. We should instead list down all the points because of which we feel that sachin is still a great batsman. On listening to our points, the other person may or may not change his opinion. Our sole aim of a discussion should not be to win over the discussion, but to justify our stand. We shouldnt just have opinions, we should have reasons to back them. Only then would we be men of substance ( or rather humans of substance). Believing that Om shanti Om is a good movie just because every newspaper says so or that engineering / MBA are great educational degrees coz everyone goes for them makes us hollow people. Every opinion MUST have a reason.
My opinions generally do not find acceptance with the other people. But most importantly, they are opinions backed with reasons. I respect criticism but the it must be reciprocated with acceptance for dissent. My aim has never been to make people believe in my opinions, but yes, i want people to acknowledge the fact that there isnt always one 'right' answer to a question.
I hope I have made my point clear. If u still do not believe in what i have written, then please do not read on. If u do, then Welcome to e-dissent - A place where I express my opinions, my theories and my fundae.
